They seem to only have an appeals process in place because they have to - but don't bother because rules are rules and even if you are in pain because of a crown done incorrectly by your previous dentist (and you moved out of state so have to go to a new dentist) they won't pay their part. I appealed after having to pay out of pocket for the new crown and my new dentist sent a letter explaining the new crown - and I got a letter saying they understand I was not satisfied but the plan states that benefits are based on the original placement date and a new crown cannot be done until at least 5 years from that date.

Since I was only in pain because the original dentist did not do the margins correctly and did not suffer an accidental injury then this is their final determination. So I paid roughly $1500 over 2.5 years for this tooth.

I would have been in a lot of pain if I did not replace that crown - but what does Ameritas care? Rules are rules...

I had to submit the claim repeatedly by mail, certified and faxed. The claim was for secondary coverage and was submitted with all proper documentation. Although you are supposed to be able to select your own provider (written in policy), my claim was denied for the provider being out of network.

this is a company that WILL NOT return calls to customers. It takes at least 30 minutes just to connect to their Agents. Their Website and management Staff stuffs non -providors onto their website to make it look like they have companies that WILL HONOR Ameritas Insurance when they clearly will not.False Advertising is against the law and they allowing Non-Credentialed Providors on their website is Fraud.They are not a friendly company and have no problem hanging up on customers.

Ameritas fraudulently puts eye doctors on their website that they fraudulently show are Ameritas providors. They are non - Credentialed and will: 1.) Not Accept Ameritas Insurance 2.) Preferred solution: Fix the Fraudulent Website. They pack in Providors that will not accept Ameritas and they know it!! They also keep you from filling in the Cons Section to complain.

Have not used policy in 3 years. So, I decided that it was money that I could use elsewhere, so that is why I canceled my policy.

Dental Benefits are not covered as advertised period

I was a fool for paying the most expensive plan. I was sure my dental expenses would be covered with little or no out of pocket expenses. Ameritas Dental is a waste of money. If the dentist charge $100, Ameritas covers $4 bucks.

Make sure things are cancelled

I called and cancelled the policy form mine and my daughter. They charged me anyways and said they would only refund partial of the money. Still haven't received itdont do itdont do it

Experience? Frustrating, Angry, almost Intolerable, Incompetent, Torture, Disappointing, Helpless. As a former Customer how can they put someone, a Senior someone through All these Upsetting Hoops just to sign up again. Good for me? Prior excellent coverage & history. ONLY reason I enrolled! Called to get information about my account. Waited 20 minutes for a customer service rep. When they finally answered, I explained the reason for my call and they disappeared from the call, even though I was still connected. I called back and waited 40 minutes - finally got disgusted and hung up.
